This is one of two tags that I made for a swap at Art for the Creative Mind. The theme was Reindeer and Holly. We were also supposed to use a background that involved reinkers and a spry mist bottle. We were permitted to use a substitute product if we did not have reinkers on hand.
Since I do not own any reinkers, I opted to use Tattered Rose Distress Ink and a spray mister bottle.
The results was a subtle rose coloured background. I rubbed some extra colour along the borders.
I was in the mood for humor and I thought of the song, Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer.
Instead of Grandma, I went with Grandpa. I had a vintage picture of a gentleman, which I believe had been on a Tim Holtz paper.
The frame is a stamped image that I heat embossed using a pale pink Distress powder. It is applied with 3D tape for dimension.
The reindeer and the holly are both made with stamps. The red berries and the red nose are glitter glue. The text is computer generated.
Finally, the row of holly along the bottom was cut from some scrap paper in my stash.
I added a length of red and cream coloured string for hanging.
