These two Asian themed mini albums are accordion scrapbooks glued into a tin box. As such, this could be considered an example of altered art as well as scrapbooking.
The mini albums have an Asian theme because they contains photos of my Tai Chi class
The covers and inside lid are lined with Asian themed scrapbook paper. The Asian collage is accomplished with ephemera purchased at Ruby Dog Art House in Vancouver. This includes clippings from a Chinese language newspaper, various other Asian papers and a coin with an Asian character on it. The words “Tai Chi” on the front are spelled out with stickers.
The white flowers are purchased, but the centers are made with punched shapes and a metallic brad.
Inside, I have added a stamped and heat embossed Chinese character, which I am told translates into English as “Qualified.”
One of the accordion albums has a ribbon spine; the other has a spine cut from card stock.
