I made this St. Patrick’s Day House on the weekend. The inspiration came from Crafty Secrets Little Folding House Kit
I didn’t use the kit, exactly. I saved the kit for a special project and replicated the two main shapes on a pizza box. The kit itself contains a number of lovely little chipboard shapes including windows, doors, a bird in case you want to make a birdhouse, etc.
I drew only the house shape and roof shape and winged it with the rest. I also added a “porch” out of accordion folded paper and a “yard” out of a suitably shaped piece of cardboard that I had tucked away in my stash in case I found a use for it some day.
The house used one sheet of two sided, patterned card stock. I made the house from the patterned side and the brown roof and the sidewalk from the solid, brown side. I ran the brown paper through a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I sanded the embossed card stock lightly to get the aged, white effect on the circles.
Here is a video tutorial showing how I made the St. Patrick’s Day House.
Obviously, you could make this St. Patrick’s Day House craft project with many themes — Cupid’s Valentine’s Day House, Halloween House of Horrors, Birthday Cake House, Sea Shanty, Gingerbread House, Ski Chalet, Garden Shed, Easter Bunny Hutch, etc.
