I made these two “Crazy Cat” ATCs (or artist trading cards) for a swap at AFTCM.
The top one is better in real life than in the photo. I made the background with a scrap of beautiful, rich purple velvet. It doesn’t look like velvet in the picture, but that’s what it is.
The lighter fabric is made from a sheer sequinned fabric that was a trim for the purple velvet. I should add that both the purple velvet and the sheet sequinned fabric were gifts from a friend who sews. She had used them to make a dress for her granddaughter.
I made the cat using a stamped image which I heat embossed and then decorated with beads. The stamp was an Outlines stamp. Unfortunately, that excellent company isn’t around any more.
After I took the picture, I trimmed the card with a bow of lavender ribbon. Its not shown here but it made a good visual.
In the second Crazy Cat ATC, I drew a picture of a quirky cat, inspired by a Lifebook 2014 lesson. It is hand painted with acrylic paints. The background is card stock that I have coloured using alcohol inks and shaving cream.
The word CATITUDE is a stamped image.
