A few days ago, I posed pictures of a star-shaped mini book that I made, with a “travelog” theme.

This is the video demonstrating how to make a star book, and showing the inside pages.

I have always struggled with tying bows. My bows tend to be lopsided and crooked. I found these great video tutorials on YouTube that demonstrate how to make foolproof bows using a fork as a tool.

And here are a few more fork-bow videos that are useful:

Tiny Bow on a Fork

This makes my life so much easier.

A few days ago, I showed pictures of an Oriental-themed coffee filter album.

This 4 x 4 chunky book, or fat book as some call them, is a collaborative mini album. I named it Two Squared.

The pages were made for swaps at Art for the Creative Mind. Some of the pages were sent to me  by swap partners.  Other pages, I made myself.

To cover the  book, I used various papers over card board.  I poked holes in each page and used a ring binder to bind.

My fat book is pretty much full now, so I guess the next time I have a new page, I will be starting a new  book.

Yesterday, I showed photos of an accordion made from a file folder. The theme is “Sewing”. I also made a video showing how the file folder was folded.

Here it is:

This is video demo of the Romantic Era Altered Book that I described at this post: Altered Book with Romantic Era Theme.

The video shows how I cut and glued the book to form the drawer.

two cd mini albums with theme 12 days of Christmas

two cd mini albums with theme 12 days of Christmas
two cd mini albums with theme 12 days of Christmas

I made two CD mini albums this holiday season. One is a gift for a friend, and is essentially a small scrapbook. The other is a decoration with the theme, 12 Days of Christmas. The latter was for a friend I have not yet met in person — a Secret Santa gift in our group, Art for the Creative Mind.

The CD or DVD disks are covered with scrapbook paper, and bound with card stock hinges. The hinges allow the book to be opened, or to fan out like a flower when stood upright.

I used the Joys of the Season cartridge for the Cricut. You can get Cricut information at this Amazon link:   cricut personal electronic cutting machine

The dancing girl and dancing man on the front are made with Memory Box dies and the Big Shot.

The red rosette is made with the Tim Holtz rosette and the Big Shot.

The gold snowflake in the center of the flower is an old pair of clip on earrings. I removed the clip on part with wire cutters.

See the video below for the inside look, and to see the mini albums standing upright.

diamond fold card with washi paper quilting This diamond fold card was to have a Japanese theme. I decided upon Washi Paper Quilting.

You can find directions for making the diamond fold at Split Coast Stampers.

Washi Paper Quilting is a Japanese art form that uses beautiful Washi paper. The paper is quilted using a light card board for the backing and a fine foam for the quilting. You can get the information at , or purchase the papers and other supplies on eBay. This is the eBay search result:

I made a video a while back showing how to do Washi paper quilting. I’ll put it here again.

As you can see, for this card I made a kimono using Washi paper and added a gold fan charm. It’s for a swap at Art for the Creative Mind.

Yesterday I said I would post the video demonstration showing how I made the altered book garden house. The video runs for about 11 minutes. It shows how I began getting the book in shape, and then shows the finished inner layouts.

Here is the video:

Yesterday, I showed some still images of a Halloween TP Mini Album that I made for a swap. The theme is Trick or Treat at Hell’s Kitchen, featuring Chef Demon Ramsay.

Lower down, you can watch a video demonstration of the toilet paper book, showing each of the layouts.

I get a lot of questions about the Beer Can Flowers on the cover. I made the flowers using a flattened, washed, beer can. I cut the flowers using an Alterations Floral die and the Big Shot. The Big Shot is my number one paper crafting tool, right after my paper trimmer, that is. I love the Big Shot and I am so pleased that my local scrapbook store owner convinced me to buy it.

Here is the demo of the small album.
